Design office
Employing almost 300 constructors specialising in 30 fields, the office grants a unique opportunity to participate in works on engines at every stage of the product life cycle – from the concept, through construction, calculations, construction of the prototypes, tests, certification, support for production and operation and for engine overhauls.
It is here that we construct the modules for the most recent engines in the PW800, PW1000, or the APS5000 families, as well as the older models by Pratt & Whitney, such as the PT6 or PW4000. We also run projects for new development engines which will appear on the market in several years' time, and determine the competitiveness of P&W on the aviation market in the future. The engine modules designed here are installed in the airframes of all the significant aircraft manufacturers, including Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, Embraer, ATR, and Dassault.
Our area operates within the framework of the integrated Canadian and American Pratt & Whitney design office, as a result of which employees exchange experience and knowledge on a global scale.
